His Story
Life & Legacy
Samuel Mwaura Mbarathi was born on 26 July 1980, to the Mbarathi family of Gatanga, Murang'a County. He grew up rooted in the rich traditions and community life of the region — values that shaped his generous spirit and lifelong love for people.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Grace Wangari, and their children: Lesley, Elena, and Annah — the joy and crowning pride of his heart. He was a devoted son, a caring brother to Muigai and Mbugua, and a cherished member of both the Mbarathi and Muigai families.
Samuel was a man of enterprise, integrity, and quiet determination. He served with distinction as Director at Afritech General Supplies Limited, where his vision, diligence, and people-first approach earned him the deep respect of colleagues, clients, and partners alike.
Known for his sharp mind and ability to build lasting relationships, Samuel approached business with the same warmth and generosity he brought to every area of his life. His legacy is one of honest dealings, faithful service, and genuine care for those around him.
Faith was the cornerstone of Samuel's life. An active and committed member of his church community, he lived out his beliefs not merely in words but in daily action — in his service, his generosity, and his unwavering care for others.
It is fitting that the verse which accompanies his homecoming captures the life he chose to live: “Well done, good and faithful servant.” Samuel heard those words because he earned them, every single day.
Those who knew Samuel remember a man who could light up a room. His laughter was infectious, his generosity boundless, his presence effortlessly reassuring. Whether dancing joyfully in his signature purple bow-tie at a celebration, or quietly sitting with someone in need — he showed up fully.
He was known for his warmth, his wisdom, his sense of humour, and his extraordinary ability to make everyone around him feel seen, valued, and loved. Samuel lived a life that mattered — not because of what he gathered, but because of what he gave.

“The best daddy in the world. You always had time for us, you always made us laugh, and you always, always made us feel so loved. We will make you proud every single day.”
“Samuel was not just our brother — he was our confidant, our encourager, our example. We are richer, and better people, for having walked this life beside him.”
“A director with a servant's heart. Samuel led with integrity, built with vision, and always put people first. His example lives on in everything we continue to build.”
